The rope

The special ropes of our HUTSCHN are manufactured for us in an internationally renowned rope factory in Bavaria. Since its foundation in 1854, the Rosenberger family has been producing ropes from every fibre known in the world. The company is now in its fifth generation. LIROS is the specialist for technical fibre ropes in Europe. Rope developments for industry and sports are the focus of the work of the engineers and rope technicians. LIROS manufactures 100% Made in Germany with approx. 170 employees.

Training and further education also play a major role at LIROS. Every year, the company trains young employees to become ropemakers. This is a guarantee for expert young talent. Our supplier LIROS is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN EN ISO 14001. The exceptional high-performance ropes of a HUTSCHN are able to withstand loads of up to 2.5 tonnes and are extremely durable due to the splice connection and special quality of the ropes.

First steps

Pure craftsmanship and precision.
In the first steps, the rope is carefully disassembled into its individual components and then brought back together as a loop.

High durability

High durability.
The high durability of a splice connection is based on the friction and self-locking between the connected pieces of rope.

Splice instead of knot

Why do we splice instead of just knotting?
An eye splice is not only the most stable, but also the most aesthetic way to make a rope loop. - An essential distinguishing and unique selling point of our HUTSCHN.

Special splicing tools

The rope sheath is guided into the rope core.
Using special splicing tools, the rope sheath is alternately worked into the rope core in several work steps.

Extreme accuracy

Concentration and precision are essential.
Almost 1.5 metres of rope are needed for the spliced loop. So that both loops of the HUTSCHN end up the same size, extreme precision is required. A mistake, a small damage to only one fibre would make it necessary to start all over again.

Merge

The sheath and core are connected with a special splicing needle.
Again and again, the different components of the rope are pierced and guided into each other.

Genuine handwork

A splice connection is real manual work and cannot be made by machine.
Each individual connection bears its own, handcrafted signature. When the so-called rope eye is finished, there is double the rope material in a rope sheath at the point where the two rope strands are rejoined. Therefore, it is noticeably thicker at this point and tapers towards the top.

Full body effort

Splice connections are based on friction between the individual rope braids of core and sheath.
These frictional forces have to be overcome when making an eye splice. This work step requires full physical effort.

Permanent fixation

In the last step, the splice is sewn with a rigging thread.
This permanently fixes the position of the individual interlocking rope parts.

Completion

This dot completes the HUTSCHN®similar to the full stop at the end of a sentence.
The end of the rigging yarn is finally carried out diagonally through the splice construction and fused at this point in a point-like manner.
