How is a rope spliced?

Swing and ropeway?

What does the rope of a HUTSCHN rope have in common with the rope of a cable car?

Answer: It is also spliced and therefore has no knots like the rope of the cable car.

Why is that so? In very simplified terms, one can also say that every knot halves the breaking strength of a rope!

A rope is therefore most likely to break at the knot.

The particularly high-quality ropes of a HUTSCHN are therefore elaborately spliced by hand.

Unique process for building swings

In this process - unique for swings - the ropes are permanently and particularly robustly connected to the hat board. The high-performance ropes of a HUTSCHN are therefore able to withstand loads of up to 2.5 tonnes and are extremely durable due to the splice connection and special quality of the ropes (which, by the way, are also manufactured in Bavaria).

If you would like to see how splicing is done live, you can once again attend the door-opening day of the Sendung mit der Maus in the workshop of HUTSCHN workshop. Make a note of 03.10.2018!

Here in the linked video of the "Sendung mit der Maus", splicing itself is explained very nicely:
